In a significant achievement within six months of assuming office, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has declared the successful rehabilitation of 361 public schools across Katsina State, disclosing the projects' total value to be over N2 billion. The announcement came during the 7th and 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony of the Federal University Dutsinma.

Governor Radda reaffirmed his administration's commitment to the revitalization of Katsina's education sector, citing the recent employment of over 7,000 teachers. He also revealed the approval of contracts for the construction of 75 secondary schools under the AGILE Program funded by the World Bank. Additionally, plans were unveiled to establish three special model schools in Katsina senatorial district, providing access to quality education for talented children from less privileged families.

Expressing concern about the Out-of-School children crisis, Governor Radda emphasized the administration's dedication to tackling the issue with the support of relevant stakeholders.

During the ceremony, former Governor Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema was among the personalities conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the university. Governor Dikko Radda congratulated him and urged the graduands to be true ambassadors of their alma mater.

However, the Chancellor of the university, King Dandeson Jaja of Opobo, highlighted security challenges, noting that the main campus, located about 25 kilometers from the temporary campus, faces the threat of bandit attacks and kidnappings. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Armaya'u Hamisu Bichi, reported that 4,365 students graduated, including 112 with first-class honours and 1,131 with various second-class degrees. Additionally, 401 postgraduate students, 11 with PhDs, 168 with academic masters, and 73 others with professional diplomas were part of the graduating class. The ceremony concluded with the conferment of doctorate degrees on Ex-Governor Shema, the Emir of Daura, Alh. Faruq Umar Faruq, and his Bichi counterpart, Alh. Nasiru Ado Bayero.
